The ultra-exclusive redesign of Apple’s new foldable iPhone Duo raises its price to almost A$30,000, and only 17 of the customized handset will be manufactured.
Caviar, a luxury smartphone customizer, created the “Liquid Metal” edition, which gives Apple’s first foldable iPhone a sculptural sterling-silver exterior. The premium 2TB model costs US$21,340 (about A$30,500).
Despite its moniker, the phone does not seem to use liquid metal in place of the iPhone Duo’s traditional hinge. Rather, Caviar has adopted the term to refer to the phone’s exterior’s visual treatment, which uses polished silver to give the impression that metal is frozen in motion.
According to Caviar, the surface’s flowing lines and reflective details were inspired by the way the foldable gadget changes when it opens and closes. Instead of a technical improvement to the underlying hardware, the outcome is a collector’s version of Apple’s new smartphone.
The Liquid Metal variant is available from Caviar in four different storage options. The 512GB model costs US$19,200 (about A$27,500), the 256GB model costs US$18,840 (roughly A$27,000), and the 1TB model costs US$19,910 (roughly A$28,500). All applicable Australian taxes, customs, and shipping expenses are not included in the prices.
The customized, eye-catching foldable sports a 5.4-inch external display and a 7.6-inch inside screen, opening in a book-like fashion while keeping the essential components of Apple’s iPhone Duo. With the base model starting at US$1,999, Apple has positioned the gadget as a high-end addition to its 2026 iPhone lineup.
The Caviar model is more than ten times more expensive than the entry-level iPhone Duo, which is already among Apple’s priciest handsets.
The item is clearly positioned in the elite luxury-collector market, with only 17 Caviar’s Liquid Metal variants to be created worldwide.
