Threadripper 9000 WX-Series: Built for Workstations
Joining the 9995WX are several other configurations targeting a range of pro workloads:
- 9985WX (64 cores): $7,999
- 9975WX (32 cores): $4,099
- 9965WX (24 cores): $2,899
- 9955WX (16 cores): $1,649
These processors are optimized for professional tools like Chaos V-Ray and Adobe After Effects, offering massive multithreaded performance gains.
Local AI and Inference Powerhouse
AMD is positioning the 9000 WX-Series not just for content creation but also for local AI deployments. During inference tests using DeepSeek R1 32B, AMD claims the Threadripper Pro 9000 series outperforms Intel by 49%, making it ideal for AI fine-tuning, model inference, and complex AI app development.
Coming to Major OEMs and DIY Builders
Workstations from Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Supermicro featuring the new Threadripper chips will also become available on July 23. DIY enthusiasts can get their hands on the processors via AMD’s channel partners.
While AMD hasn’t disclosed pricing for the non-Pro Threadripper 9980X and 9970X, they are expected to be more affordable and targeted at the DIY enthusiast market.
