DJI Mic 3: Compact Powerhouse Wireless Microphone with Pro-Level Features

DJI Mic 3

DJI has officially introduced its latest wireless lavalier microphone system—the DJI Mic 3—designed to deliver professional-grade audio in a smaller, lighter, and more versatile package. Building on the success of the Mic 2, this new release combines portability with advanced functionality, making it an ideal choice for creators, vloggers, podcasters, and professional videographers.

Smaller Design, More Power

At just 16 grams, the DJI Mic 3 is nearly half the size and weight of its predecessor, the Mic 2. Despite its compact form factor, it retains robust features such as built-in backup recording, a touchscreen display for real-time adjustments, and an impressive 32 GB of internal storage—quadrupling the capacity of the previous model.

Adaptive Gain & Voice Tone Options

The Mic 3 introduces two adaptive gain control modes:

  • Automatic Mode – prevents clipping and suppresses sudden volume spikes in noisy environments.
  • Dynamic Mode—keeps sound levels balanced in quieter indoor setups like studios.

To enhance vocal clarity, users can choose from three voice tone presets: Regular, Rich, and Bright, ensuring optimal audio quality across different voices and environments.

With support for up to four transmitters and eight receivers simultaneously, the DJI Mic 3 is perfect for group interviews, panel discussions, and large-scale productions. Its 400-meter (1,312 feet) transmission range and automatic dual-band switching (2.4 GHz & 5 GHz) ensure stable, interference-free recordings.

Creators working in busy or outdoor locations will benefit from two-level active noise cancelling, which reduces background distractions while keeping voices crisp and clear. The Mic 3 also supports 24-bit and 32-bit floating-point recordings, making it a reliable tool for professional-grade audio capture.

Battery life on the DJI Mic 3 strikes a balance between previous models, with up to 10 hours on the transmitter and 8 hours on the receiver. The included charging case delivers an extra 28 hours of runtime, keeping creators powered for long shoots without interruption.

DJI has confirmed that the Mic 3 will launch in select markets before arriving in the US. While official pricing hasn’t been announced, expectations place it between the $219 Mic 2 and the more affordable $169 Mic Mini.

The DJI Mic 3 is a game-changer for creators seeking high-quality audio in a portable design. With adaptive gain control, noise cancelling, long-range stability, and extended battery life, it’s poised to become one of the best wireless microphone systems available.
