A new tri-foldable, which was initially revealed last weekend and is currently available for pre-order reservations in China, will launch the first week of September. All three Mate XT2 color options, some stats, and two new advertising movies have also been made public.

The first teasers and a debut date for Huawei’s third tri-foldable gadget were revealed last weekend in August. The Chinese manufacturer is now moving away from the Z-form factor and toward the U-format employed by Samsung in the Galaxy Z TriFold. It has an extra cover display on the exterior and a roughly 10-inch tablet display that folds inward twice.
Because the flexible AMOLED panel is now completely shielded when folded, the design should be more resilient in day-to-day use. Huawei also shows some of the Mate XT2’s testing processes in a video. The new tri-foldable is put through water pressure tests in addition to drop tests. Although the typical flaws of foldable smartphones, such dust and filth or a flex display that is prone to scratches, will probably still be a problem, it appears like Huawei wants to allay any durability concerns prior to the launch event.
All three color variations are displayed in the second marketing video.
Today, Huawei’s official Weibo page also features a second promotional video that introduces two other color variants in addition to the primary purple model. Both have bright white/beige or dark black backs with gold bezels.
The Huawei Store’s storage configurations
Additionally, the Chinese Huawei online store (Huawei Vmall) allows you to reserve your preferred Mate XT2 configuration. Storage variations include 16/512 GB, 16GB/1TB, and 16/1TB with privacy protection in addition to the three color options. A high-end setup with an integrated stylus, a privacy display, 16 GB of RAM, and 2 TB of storage is available only for the purple color option. Given the present cost of storage, it is easy to envision how costly that will be. Although the latter option’s release date has not yet been disclosed, the regular storage options are expected to ship by October 31 at the latest, which appears to be later than the September 7th debut date.
