A major iCloud outage affected Apple users globally on the morning of June 25, 2025, causing widespread disruptions to services like Apple Mail, Photos, and Find My. According to reports, the outage lasted several hours and impacted thousands of users, especially across the US and Europe.
Apple’s own System Status page confirmed that services including iWork for iCloud and Find My were down for over four hours, although all issues were marked as resolved by 11:04 AM IST.
While India reported minimal impact, users in other regions expressed frustration online, particularly due to the interruption to their work routines. iCloud’s role in backing up crucial data such as photos, emails, and passwords meant that users found themselves locked out of essential tools during the workday.
Many took to social media to vent about the inconvenience, highlighting how deeply integrated Apple’s cloud ecosystem has become in their daily workflows. The disruption raised concerns about reliability, especially when critical services are rendered inaccessible without warning.
This iCloud outage follows OpenAI’s recent downtime, which rendered ChatGPT and Sora (the AI video generator) unusable for many users. In India alone, 82% of complaints pointed to ChatGPT failing to respond.
These back-to-back outages underline the growing dependency on cloud and AI platforms—and the ripple effects when they go down.
