It’s Far from Too Late to Start Selling on Amazon—Here’s Why

As a successful entrepreneur and 7-figure Amazon seller, people ask me every day: “Eric, is it too late for me to start selling on Amazon?” The answer is simple—absolutely not. Here’s why.

  1. I witness my students’ success every day

I have seen firsthand the success of the students in my Genius Academy Masterclass over and over again as they begin their Amazon selling businesses. Equipped with the knowledge they gain from the class; they know exactly what products that will fly off the virtual shelves. I teach them how to identify these cash cow products, and the strategy has proven to work again and again.

  1. The list of products in demand is never-ending

There are millions of items in the world being bought and sold, with new products and innovations coming out every single day. This will continue for the rest of our lives. You can easily take an existing product, find a weakness in it, make it better, and then sell it yourself. Just as easily, you can find extremely odd items that 99% of people are overlooking, mainly because they don’t even know they exist. Millions of people would buy this product—it’s just a matter of getting it in front of their eyes!

Everything always boils down to mindset. As I’ve said over and over, you have to think creatively to discover opportunities. My masterclass teaches you how to do this. Here’s an example:

One of the oddball products that I sell on Amazon is a watermelon cuber. Now, I bet the vast majority of you never knew a product like this existed—neither did I. As the title implies, a watermelon cuber is an efficient way to cube your watermelon in record time. This unique product solves a problem, which means there is a demand for it.

In my master class, you’ll learn exactly how to find problem-solving products like these with low saturation—which equals an opportunity to easily bring it to market.

You do not always need to be the inventor—you can accessorize an existing product, improve upon it, or offer bundles. I have had huge success selling a sticker pack that’s an accessory to an extremely popular product on the market today.

  1. Success comes when you niche down

Niching down is an extremely important and lucrative step for beginner sellers. So many people make the mistake of selling a product that everyone in the world could buy. Do not do this!

For example: Everyone wants to sell a water bottle because it appeals to everyone. Sure, if you were able to get your water bottle in front of everyone looking to buy one, it would have the potential to make you a lot of money. However, the market for water bottles is extremely saturated. People have been selling water bottles on Amazon since the beginning.

Opportunity comes from making the product unique. You could take that same water bottle and put paw prints on it, or maybe frogs, or horses. There are millions of people out there that love each of these subcategories who would love to buy your item over a plain old water bottle. That customer is connecting with your product, buying something unique, and enjoying their shopping experience even more. The more you narrow down your target audience, the more money there is to be made.

  1. Amazon is very well-established with millions of existing customers

Starting a completely new website to sell your products simply doesn’t make sense when millions of people are already shopping on Amazon every single day. All you need to do is properly create a listing on Amazon to get it in front of customers that are already looking for exactly what you’re selling. Amazon has preestablished the trust and scalability to build yourself a wildly profitable passive income using a tiny fraction of the work it would take to make a new e-commerce store successful.

  1. The effects of the pandemic have made online shopping even more popular

COVID-19 catapulted Amazon years ahead of itself by forcing more and more people to shop online. People are beginning to get used to getting their toilet paper, toothpaste, dog food, etc. on Amazon—you name it, it’s there. Millions and millions of people are going to start shopping online regularly, especially as this new, computer-savvy generation enters adulthood.

Hundreds of thousands of new and innovative products are listed on Amazon every single day, and this isn’t going to change anytime soon. For all of these reasons, it is not too late to start selling on Amazon, and it won’t be too late for the foreseeable future. Every single one of you should have a piece of the action.
