Our first clear look at the Acer Googlebook 14 is revealed via recently released renders

The final hardware designs for Google’s first-wave fleet are increasingly slipping out as pre-orders for Googlebooks formally open on Monday, September 21. At IFA 2026, Acer teased a dark silhouette on stage, giving us an early look, but the manufacturer kept the real chassis lines hidden. We now have the first clear, high-resolution view of Acer’s future flagship from every perspective.

The Acer Googlebook 14 (GP714-91N) has been revealed in comprehensive profile pictures with the ASUS CX9406 and the Lenovo Googlebook i 15, according to a new batch of leaked press renders released by Android Headlines (via GbookHub). The fresh photographs reveal that Acer is bringing its proven convertible engineering forward into the Googlebook era, giving buyers a notably adaptable alternative in a sea of traditional clamshells.

360-degree convertible in a clamshell-filled ocean
Anyone who has watched Acer’s high-end laptops over the years will recognize the silhouette in these images right away. The robust 360-degree adaptability of the Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 714, which enables the screen to fold flat into tablet, tent, and presentation modes, is evident in the chassis and dual-hinge design.

For Acer, the convertible hinge is a huge distinction. With the gadgets that have slipped out thus far, it looks like Acer’s will be the lone convertible of the original set. Pairing full laptop performance with tablet flexibility makes great sense for Googlebook, especially when you consider how well Android handles touch inputs, stylus sketching, and tablet-optimized apps.

Internal leaks and an offset glowbar We can now examine half of Acer’s port architecture in more detail thanks to the leaked profile photos. Dual USB-C ports are plainly visible in the graphic along the left side of the dark titanium chassis. A full-sized HDMI connector, an Intel Core Ultra 5 (Panther Lake) processor, 16GB of RAM, and a stunning 14-inch 120Hz 2.8K OLED display were all revealed in the early European shop spec leaks that appeared last month. It is interesting to note that the leak also reveals an intriguing hardware peculiarity with Google’s iconic Glowbar. The multicolored LED light strip on Lenovo’s 15-inch laptop is positioned exactly in the middle of the top lip of the display lid. However, the images show that Acer positioned the Glowbar somewhat off to the upper corner of the Acer Googlebook 14. Although it is a small detail, it demonstrates that Google allowed hardware partners to incorporate the feature with true artistic freedom.
