Production Ram 1500 REV electric pickup truck is revealed as reservations open

The production Ram 1500 REV electric pickup has been shown off, and reservations for the upcoming truck have started to be taken.

The strikingly styled Ram Revolution concept, which debuted at CES, served as a preview for the model. However, the body of the model is largely identical to that of the current Ram 1500 pickup trucks with internal combustion engines.

It appears to be similar to Ford’s F-150 Lightning, which was based on the existing F-150 rather than a brand-new truck like the one that General Motors created for Chevrolet and GMC.

A Super Bowl-themed advertisement is expected to feature the 1500 REV. featuring comedian Jason Jones discussing “premature electrification” in a pharmaceutical ad spoof that mocks the limited driving range of some electric vehicles of today.

The concept’s illuminated grille and headlamp design are carryover elements, and the driver’s side front fender features a charge port door.

Although it has previously stated that it will have specifications that are among the best in the industry across the board, Ram did not provide any specifics regarding power, range, towing capacity, or features.

“The Ram brand has redefined the pickup truck segment before and will once again with its all-new Ram 1500 REV,” said Mike Koval Jr., Ram brand CEO – Stellantis. “We believe in bringing the right range of powertrain solutions to our customers, and the Ram 1500 REV will be the first in a lineup of electrified solutions that will add to our current award-winning truck lineup.

“We are on an exciting electrification journey that will see Ram push past the competition in areas customers care about the most: range, payload, towing and charge time.”

Although Ram did not provide any images of the interior, the dimensions of the cab make it unlikely that this 1500 REV will feature the Revolution’s three rows of seats or the 18-foot cargo tunnel that entered the front truck from the tailgate.

The 1500 REV will begin production and deliveries next year, Ram confirmed last week. RamREV.com charges $100 to make reservations.
