After unveiling its latest foldable flagships, Samsung seems to be setting the stage for yet another major release—its first tri-fold smartphone. According to a new report, the highly anticipated device may launch as early as October 2025, potentially named the Galaxy Z Trifold.
Galaxy Z Trifold: Samsung’s Bold New Form Factor
While previous rumors suggested a “G Fold” name, Samsung has already trademarked “Galaxy Z Trifold” in South Korea, signaling the company’s intent to keep this new device under the Z series branding. The design is expected to push boundaries further than the current Z Fold and Z Flip lineup.
Industry leaker Ice Universe shared the updated launch window on Weibo, suggesting that Samsung aims to release the tri-fold shortly after Apple’s September product event buzz settles—a strategic move to dominate headlines.
Facing Direct Competition from Huawei
Samsung may turn this into a multi-device launch event, possibly unveiling the Galaxy S25 FE and even its upcoming XR headset. While it’s unclear if the company will hold a dedicated launch event or opt for an online release, the significance of its first tri-fold device suggests the former is more likely.
Reports indicate that the tri-fold may initially launch only in South Korea and China, with global availability still uncertain. However, a successful regional debut could lead to a wider rollout in early 2026.
