The service is now available across 155 countries, territories, and markets, reflecting a significant expansion of SpaceX’s satellite internet footprint. The customer milestone was achieved in less than seven weeks after Starlink crossed the 8 million user mark, highlighting one of the fastest growth phases in the company’s history.
Starlink operates using a constellation of over 9,000 low-Earth orbit satellites, enabling it to deliver high-speed internet to remote, rural, and hard-to-reach locations where conventional networks are often unreliable or unavailable. This infrastructure has allowed SpaceX to address a massive unmet demand for global internet access.
The satellite network has become a central revenue driver for SpaceX. Elon Musk, the company’s founder and CEO, recently stated that Starlink now contributes the largest share of the company’s overall revenue, surpassing its launch services business.
Starlink’s momentum in 2025 follows a year of explosive growth. The service reported fewer than 5 million customers at the end of 2024 and steadily climbed throughout the year, reaching millions of new users in a matter of months.
