The most recent Android 17 beta includes Fold 8 features for the Galaxy S26

A new beta version of Android 17 for the Galaxy S26 has been revealed by Samsung, and it is an interesting version that brings many of the capabilities of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 to Samsung’s flagship slab phone.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is the newest model in Samsung’s lineup, which consists of the smaller, more boxy variant and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which is essentially an updated version that adheres to the previous design language the business implemented. Samsung has been releasing batches of phones by device type

Samsung then fully unveiled One UI 9. Call Brief, personalized Now Brief cards, and Fan Cam were among its features. A redesigned version of the Google Search bar on the homescreen was also included in the software update. Additionally, if you would rather not have it, it is completely optional.

In its One UI 9 beta program, which is based on Android 17, Samsung is presently releasing such features for the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra in builds S948BXXU4ZZHK, S948BOXM4ZZHK, and 5948BXX14BZHK (via SammyGuru). The aforementioned features are combined into a single changelog entry. “enhanced intermittent device rebooting in various situations” and “enhanced usability of ‘Do not disturb’ mode” come next.

The Samsung Members app is still the only way to access the One UI 9 beta on Galaxy S26 smartphones. The Galaxy S25 series and other devices are still on the lineup. However, Samsung has not commented on when the One UI 9 beta will be available on older smartphones.
