TOKYO: Nikon Corporation (Nikon) is happy to announce that the full-frame/FX-format Nikon Z5IIC mirrorless camera with the Nikon Z mount is now available.
The Z5IIC performs at the same level as the Z5II (launched in April 2025), which offers sophisticated shooting features that support a wide range of shooting scenarios and settings while making it simple for even novice camera users to express themselves through photographs. For the first time for a Nikon full-frame mirrorless camera, the mode dial enables scene modes that automatically adjust brightness, color, and other photographic parameters based on the chosen scenario. Additionally, it has a special button that allows users to instantly access Imaging Recipes made by Nikon and top producers, making it simple to take stunning pictures and videos without worrying about shooting settings.
The camera’s top has a streamlined, smooth design that makes it easy to put in and take out of a bag, allowing users to record ordinary moments without missing a snap. AI-powered autofocus (AF) makes it simple to take sharp, clear pictures and videos, while an ergonomic grip that fits securely in the hand and strong image stabilization reduce camera shake that causes blurring.
Furthermore, the Z5IIC offers more editing options by supporting Full HD at up to 120 fps and 4K UHD at up to 60 fps*1. The camera has a number of video capabilities, including as a REC lamp that clearly indicates when recording is underway and compatibility for Nikon’s exclusive N-Log, making it perfect for creating videos. It can also be used for live streaming by simply attaching it to a PC via a USB cable.
In order to broaden the possibilities for imaging expression, Nikon will keep pursuing a new dimension in optical performance while satisfying user needs and contributing to the growth of photography culture.
Principal characteristics
Easy-to-use features for novice mirrorless camera users
Nikon’s first full-frame mirrorless camera with scene modes on the mode dial is the Z5IIC. Even novice camera users can start enjoying taking photos and movies right away thanks to the settings. The camera can capture fifteen distinct situations, ranging from commonplace things like food, pets, and portraits to more difficult ones like twilight and nighttime vistas. The camera automatically modifies more than six parameters, including Picture Control and white balance, by only choosing the ideal scene. Additionally, the camera’s dedicated button allows you to register and easily recall Imaging Recipes, which are image presets made by Nikon and other top designers. This provides a seamless shooting experience and enables users to effortlessly enjoy taking pictures and videos that convey the desired atmosphere and emotion without the need for post-processing.
Additionally, the camera is perfect for people who would rather take pictures without using their hands. Deep learning is used by Nikon’s in-house AI technology to automatically identify subjects. Additionally, while the camera is in AUTO mode, it can automatically optimize exposure parameters including aperture, shutter speed, ISO sensitivity, and AF by analyzing and identifying subjects and scenes. Additionally, users may take blur-free pictures even when the ideal shot appears out of the blue thanks to in-camera vibration reduction (VR) with up to 7.5 stops*2 of correction.
Even novice camera users can confidently experiment with different kinds of imaging expression thanks to all these features.
A lightweight design perfect for daily use
The Z5IIC is perfect for daily shooting because of its streamlined, smooth design that makes it easy to put in and take out of a bag. The steady grip gives you a firm handle on the camera so you can quickly frame those ideal moments.
Shooting from low angles and selfies is made possible by the huge 3.2-inch vari-angle monitor. Double-tap, pinch in/out, and swipe are common touch controls that can be used for playback, focusing, and shutter releases with ease, just as on a smartphone. Shooting outside is made worry-free with a body that uses magnesium alloy in critical locations for additional rigidity and a design that pays close attention to dust and leak resistance.
Additionally, the Z5IIC comes in two colors—black and silver—so customers may select the one that best fits their tastes.
A full-frame mirrorless camera allows for exceptional image quality.
The Z5IIC has the same EXPEED 7 image-processing engine as Nikon’s flagship model, along with a backside-illumination CMOS sensor. When paired with NIKKOR Z lenses, it produces images and videos of much higher quality than what is achievable with a smartphone. While reducing noise and blur, the camera skillfully captures everything from the gentle gradations of a sunset sky and natural bokeh to gloomy subjects like nite landscapes. Additionally, the Z5IIC has the Film Grain function*3, which was first introduced with the Nikon Zf (launched in October 2023) and makes it simple to take pictures and videos that have a nostalgic film appearance.
Video elements that facilitate the development of short-form material and the use of webcams
A red frame indicator is displayed around the monitor display and the REC light is lit when video is being recorded, allowing one to quickly determine when the camera is recording. The Z5IIC makes it simple to create stunning short-form films without post-processing by supporting slow-motion recording at 4× and 5× normal speed4, as well as recording at frame sizes and rates up to 4K UHD at 60 fps and Full HD at 120 fps. Additionally, it has a feature called Product Review Mode that makes it simple to create review movies by smoothly shifting focus to an object that is brought close to the camera. The camera is well suited to a wide range of applications, from vlogging on a mini tripod to video streaming, thanks to its support for UVC/UAC, which allows it to be used as a webcam by simply connecting it to a PC, as well as H.265 10-bit (MOV) and N-Log5 recording, which allows users to advance into more sophisticated video production.
4 4× slow-motion recording is possible when [Frame size/frame rate] in the video recording menu is set to [1920×1080; 30p] or [1920×1080; 25p]. 5× slow-motion recording is available when [1920×1080; 24p] is chosen.*
When [Video file type] in the video recording option is set to [H.265 10-bit (MOV)] or [N-RAW 12-bit (NEV)].
