Twelve South Launches AirFly Drive Wireless Adapter

Twelve South is prepared to open its brand-new Airfly Drive today, following the introduction of some early fall Prime Day bargains. The new CarPlay and Android Auto adaptor, the newest model in the Airfly family, is now available for $39.99. Many unknown companies are producing comparable products, most of which are far less sophisticated than this, but Twelve South has emerged.

The new Airfly Drive is introduced by Twelve South.

For those who are not aware with the current Twelve South Airfly portfolio, it is a collection of compact devices intended to supply wireless audio from wired-only sources (such as exercise equipment and flight entertainment systems) to AirPods (and other wireless headphones).

It is bringing its expertise in the field to your vehicle with the new Airfly Drive, a “small adaptor that improves a car’s existing tethered CarPlay or Android Auto to a totally wireless connection.”

Millions of drivers have cars with built-in CarPlay or Android Auto but no wireless option, according to Twelve South, either because “the car predates it or because the wifi upgrade was part of a package they did not buy.” For $39.99, Airfly Drive bridges the gap.

“CarPlay or Android Auto starts immediately every time the car does, with the phone still in the cup holder, a pocket, or a bag.” All you have to do is plug it into the car’s USB port and couple up to two phones at once.

Quick features:

  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on the vehicle’s integrated screen
  • No app, account, or billing is needed for plug-and-play setup.
  • Every time the automobile starts, a quick automated reconnection occurs.
  • Switching between two linked phones with a single tap
  • A USB-A to USB-C converter is included, and the small aluminum housing is made to stay plugged in and accommodate both USB-A and USB-C.
  • Compatible with the car’s current steering-wheel controls, buttons, and display
  • Continuous updates for compatibility
  • According to the company, it uses the car’s USB connector for power and only pairs once before automatically reconnecting upon ignition. It does not require an app, account, or configuration. Additionally, it is compatible with rental cars and other vehicles “across more than 75 makes and model years back to 2014.” The Airfly Drive is compatible with both USB-A and USB-C ports; if necessary, an adapter is included in the package.

Amazon is currently offering the new Twelve South Airfly Drive in black and white/silver hues for $39.99.
