Xiaomi has entered the smart glasses race with a powerful new AI-powered wearable, showcasing it at its recent “Human x Car x Home” event in Beijing.
The new Xiaomi AI Smart Glasses are equipped with a 12MP ultra-wide camera, allowing users to capture immersive first-person photos and videos using voice commands. Powered by the Qualcomm AR1 chip, the glasses support AI object recognition, live translation, and QR code scanning, making them a strong contender in the evolving AR wearables market.
A standout feature is the 8.6-hour battery life, more than double the runtime of Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, which only offer 4 hours per charge. Xiaomi’s glasses also feature fast charging, reaching full power in just 45 minutes.
The glasses are seamlessly integrated with Xiaomi’s XiaoAI assistant, offering voice-activated support for common tasks like payments, information lookups, and more.
Pricing: The standard model is priced at 1,999 yuan, positioning it as a feature-rich yet affordable alternative to premium offerings from Meta.
According to industry analysts, Xiaomi’s advantage lies in its expansive smart ecosystem, including smartphones, smartwatches, home appliances, and electric vehicles. This could give it a strong foothold in the fast-growing market.
The global smart glasses market grew by 210% in 2024 and is forecasted to grow another 60% in 2025, indicating massive potential for Xiaomi’s latest innovation.
