Google has officially launched the NotebookLM mobile app, making its AI-powered note-taking tool available on both Android and iOS devices. You can now download the app from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
According to Google Labs product manager Biao Wang, a mobile version has been one of the top user requests since the desktop version of NotebookLM was first introduced.
What is NotebookLM?
NotebookLM is an AI-powered tool that helps you better understand and organize your information. You can upload files like
- Documents
- PDFs
- Notes
The app will then summarize the content, pull out key points, and even generate audio overviews—like mini podcasts based on your content.
New: Audio Overviews On-the-Go
One of the most exciting features of the mobile app is the Audio Overview. This allows you to:
- Listen to summaries of your content
- Play them in the background
- Use them offline
This is perfect for multitasking—catch up on work documents or performance reviews while commuting, walking, or doing chores.
Just in Time for Google I/O
The release comes right before Google I/O, the company’s annual developer conference. The timing hints that Google may spotlight NotebookLM during its AI-focused keynote, which kicks off at 1 PM ET on Tuesday.
The mobile version of NotebookLM makes it easier than ever to stay productive, whether you’re at your desk or on the move. With powerful features like AI summaries and background audio, it’s a great tool for students, professionals, or anyone who deals with a lot of information.
