Detecting GPS Jamming technologies against autonomous vehicles with cost-effective solutions

As the accessibility and the capability of consumer drones increase, as much as new opportunities are arising, concerns over potential security threats also increase. Consumer drones these days can be purchased almost anywhere at an affordable cost and are now being widely used due to their ease of use and low cost. However, they also pose significant risks to organisations across crucial sectors and the news of these drones being exploited for surveillance and any other malicious is nothing new. Thankfully, with the advancement in technology, several ways have been devised to counter such drones and detect them through audio, radar, etc depending from system to system.

Wireless technology plays a crucial role in controlling unregistered UAVs to ensure asset protection and security of any organisation. DX – 1 development kit by Rajant Corp is one such technology – it is a small, light radio with antennae that provides strong encryption options across differing frequencies, for high performance use. The company is also testing detection technologies for other video, radar and sonar as well.

Similarly, Infinidome’s GPSdome, is world’s first non-military GPS anti-jammer technology that is commercially available and is deployed across the critical infrastructure sector. The Israel-based wireless security company develops solutions to detect and secure the wireless communications of various autonomous vehicles. Earlier in January, it received bridge funding from European AI fund Boundary Holding, the investment of which is expected to help the security company make its way forward in the mobility technology. Having already acquired over $1 million, the funding from the Rajat Khare founded firm will hopefully boost Infinidome further to work in the direction of autonomous technology and gain an edge in the market.

The application of drones have shifted drastically in the recent times – from being used for entertainment to commercial purposes. Therefore, such reliable solutions to detect and counter any potential threats have become the need of the hour.
