You may have seen Heidi on Instagram creating some of the most eccentric, fun and colorful posts the social media platform has ever seen. Since joining Instagram, Heidi has now worked with highly coveted brands as an LA-based Instagram blogger. Her vibrant feed all began when she started her Instagram page back in 2016, now she has grown her loyal following to almost 50,000 followers. Today we chat with her on how she got started & her best tips…
When did you start your Instagram page?
I started Instagram back when I was living in San Francisco about 4 years ago. It wasn’t until I moved to LA about 3 years ago that I found my passion in content creating, writing, photography and helping brands & creatives with social strategy!!
How did you get into blogging?
I started getting into blogging with my first company LoveLustLA. I loved meeting so many amazing businesses all over Los Angeles and getting to showcase all the amazing things LA has to offer!!
What is the most rewarding part of blogging?
I love building experiences. If you can take someone where they have never been just by your writing and photos it’s one of the greatest gifts to Journey with others.
Do you consider yourself an entrepreneur?
I guess I have always been an entrepreneur. From running my start-up company to now creating and inspiring, I knew from a very young age I wanted to create and journey down the road a little less traveled.
Do you do more brand collaborations on Instagram Feed or Instagram Stories?
I love working with Brands in so many ways, blogs, IG, Live-streams, stories, feeds, creative strategy and the list goes on. Having built and run a successful start-up, I feel I can help brands not only with showcasing their products in creative, unique ways but also give advice in overall marketing strategy!!
A lot of people hate influencers. What kind of feedback do you get from the industry?
Wow, hate is a very strong word. I guess with any title there will always be hate and love. I take the good and let the bad pass all around me. I can also say working on both sides (hiring influencers & being one) I can say be honest, upfront, always get contracts and really pour your heart into what you do and others will see that!
What has been your favorite brand collaboration so far?
Omg! There have been so many amazing experiences. Writing and working with Stagecoach this past year was definitely a HUGE bucket-list goal for me!!
What advice do you have for an aspiring blogger?
Don’t worry about building followers. Your community will come. Create what inspires you. Stay true to you. Don’t try to be everything and do everything. Find what really makes you happy and speak your voice through art.
What has being a blogger taught you about branding and marketing?
There are so many things learned that is definitely on the human element side. Since blogging & content creation is still a newer field laying out expectations always has faired very well for me. I have always loved branding and marketing though so it’s felt like an amazing transition for me!!
What are your three best marketing and branding tips?
Ohhh this is a good one!
1. Always believe in yourself!!
2. You don’t have to have it all figured out to start. Look at your favorite company’s branding when they first started to now. I’m sure you can see sooooo much growth!!
